Description Kevin Finisterre 2004-03-02 09:56:27 UTC
We have had several instances where excel files are corrupted via macintosh
OSX clients using Office X Excel v.X SP1. The files appear to be renamed to
random hex values like 201D1400, 06FA7000, 5E536000, DFC5E800, and 1B0F3300.
Often a mac resource fork is also left behind with the orignal file prefixed
with ._

please provide level 10 debug logs on the Samba server.
I don't have access to Excel for OS X (or OS X for that matter).
