debug output of join command

If you try to join a Unix client with 'net rpc join -S PDC -U root' you get this message:

No realm has been specified! Do you really want to join an Active Directory server?

The join completes successfully:

Enter root's password:
No realm has been specified! Do you really want to join an Active Directory server?
Using short domain name -- EXAMPLE
Joined 'DEBCLIENT' to domain 'EXAMPLE'

But as you can see it asks the same question again, but doesn't allow you to say yes or no.
