Hi, I'm sorry but Samba 3.6 is in security bugfixes only mode. Can you please try to reproduce it with the latest Samba release? I it still exists, there we will take care of it!
Sure I would, if I could find a package that would install on Ubuntu 12.04?! Samba 4 integration to ubuntu 12.04 is incomplete sucks and is just nothing I can leave with a customer. If you have a chance to push them... The customer has returned to Samaba3.03 with LPRNG But it should be easy for you to test these Kyocera drivers in general. To get to the point where it fails you do not need a Kyocera printer. You have a Cups-Queue, you assign RAW-driver in cups, do not share the printer from CUPS, see the queue show up in Samba then add the driver to "Remote printer". There is really nothing special in the setup except that the print server is not member of a domain thus it should be a public print server. Sorry, but I will not be available for the next 10 days to test something.
I have exactly the same issue with the newest Kyocera drivers on Debian Jessie with samba 4.1.17 Printers installed via Point'n'Print : - Printing from Windows7x64 fails with Error 0x00000006 - zero-sized spoolfile in /var/spool/samba On the same server, I have no problem at all with 2 HP printers nor with another Kyocera printer supported via some other older driver.
this looks like some kind of configuration issue not a generic samba bug.
