Description Fabio Fantoni 2014-03-28 15:39:16 UTC
I added secondary dc with samba 4.1.6 (debian7 with official 4.1.6+dfsg-1~bpo70+1 package) on samba 4.0 (debian 7 with old samba4 package version 4.0.0) pdc following this official howto:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
When the new dc was added no record A/AAAA/CNAME/reverse/SOA/NS ecc were added in the pdc nameserver.
I manually added following the howto above only the A and CNAME record reported in it.
The automatically addition of all DCs DNS entries is missed or bugged only on 4.0 pdc or is still missed on 4.1 pdc? If it is still missed also in 4.1 can be added, following for example the similar part of automatic DCs DNS entries in pdc provisioning?
Is also possible add on howto the manually addition of all other missed DCs DNS entries? (NS,SOA,reverse ecc)

Thanks for any reply.

if you use the right DNS servers this works well with current samba versions
