Running sysvolreset shows many messages about a not specified idmap range: # samba-tool ntacl sysvolreset idmap range not specified for domain '*' idmap range not specified for domain '*' idmap range not specified for domain '*' idmap range not specified for domain '*' ... This message appears about 1.500 times in my production environment, when I run the sysvolreset. But the message is not expected, as no winbind is running on the DC.
This messages are also shown when doing a classicupgrade (in this case done from a tdbsam backend with 4.1.7): ..... ..... I tried Samba 4.5.0rc2: This version doesn't show this messages anymore. I close this bug report.
I see this message using sernet-samba-4.5.1-6.el6.x86_64
In samba-4.8.0 I see this behaviour again. I have 410 lines: idmap range not specified for domain '*'
