Description Arvid Requate 2013-07-24 09:59:22 UTC
Documentation of the default value for the "max xmit" parameter seems a bit inconsistent:

<value>: <source>
===========================================================================
16644 / 0x4104: source3/param/loadparm.c, docs/manpages/smb.conf.5, docs-xml/smbdotconf/protocol/maxxmit.xml

65535: docs-xml/using_samba/appb.xml, docs-xml/using_samba/appc.xml

12288: lib/param/loadparm.c
===========================================================================

The actual default seems to be 16644, while the Samba-HOWTO-Collection (as well as some printed literature) refers to the "protocol's upper limit, which is 64 kilobytes".
