I tried to compile Samba without AD but the ldapsam compilation crashes with
almost all ldap references unresolved.

Try "--with-ads=no --with-ldap=yes --with-ldapsam=yes"

I tested ./configure --with-ads=no --with-ldap=yes --with-ldapsam=yes
and compile with the CVS

originally reported against 3.0aph24.  Bugzilla spring cleaning.
