On running "findsmb" i get these error messages, independent from runlevel, privileges or options:

Nothing is listed, however i know that several hundred computers are in this part of the network. Since "findsmb" hasnt been changed since 2004, according to kukks in #samba, the bug must somehow be related to newer perl versions. 
Samba: 3.6.3-34.12.1
Perl: 5.14.2-3.1
Both are the newest version offered by my distro.
