configure --help documents --disable-xattr-support, but the code supports only -enable-xattr-support

configure defaults to auto-enabled xattr support, and --disable-xattr-support turns it off (note that SUPPORT_XATTRS gets disabled).  If you're having a problem, please let us know what that is.

Oops.  I misread the code to say that support defaulted to off.  Sorry to waste your time.
