[root@gate ~]# smbd -V

[root@gate ~]# wbinfo -a maint%temporary1
plaintext password authentication succeeded
challenge/response password authentication succeeded
[root@gate ~]# wbinfo -r maint
Could not get groups for user maint

Volker Lendeke asked me to attach a level 10 log.
I'll try that after it's opened.

Shares are kept in seperate included file, some by user.  Let me know if they're relevant.

Windows server 2003 enterprise SP1.
Accounts migrated from NT40 with sidhistory.
SFU 3.5, unix info agrees with NIS

i think this is no problem with recent versions. please try with 4.1.x and if you still see the problem, please reopen the bug.
