I think that the source (XML files) of the documentation should be included in the release tarball to allow easier bug reports against doc, distribution specific configurations, etc. Since the DTDs are pulled out from this site at every compilation, they should also be included.

Why? They change vry regularly. I do my best to maintain the docs sources. If you provide a patch based on the included sources it may end up not being capable of being used in the master sources. You can obtain all the docs sources from: http://websvn.samba.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/trunk/?root=samba-docs I'd suggest that it is more logical to obtain the docs source from the above or via anonymous svn. - John T.
