Description ez 2005-01-11 13:38:27 UTC
When running samba i found that the root home dir is shared with R/W access. you
can get to this by running \\server\root I dont believe this would be a feature.

Thanks!

Your configuration has [homes] defined in smb.conf right ?
So you said to share root's home directory.
You probably want to add 'valid users = %S' to the
homes service as well to prevent one user from connecting
to another user's home directory (assuming the unix permissions
allow that behavior in the first place).

This report really should have gone to the samba mailing
list first since it is a fairly common mis-configuration.

Of course, you don't give a lot of details so if my crystal ball
is browken, feel free to reopen this bug report with much more
information. Thanks.
