samba 3.0.8 SuSE Linux 9.1 Configure is: configure --with-logfilebase=/var/log --with-lockdir=/var/lock --with-piddir=/var/run --with-automount --with-quotas --with-msdfs -with-vfs --enable-cups --with-acl-support --with-smbmount With 3.0.8 i'm no more able to copy files from a win2k-box via xcopy to samba share. Existing directories are reported as "access denied", non-existend directories cannot be created. When copying the same files with the window explorer no error occurs!!! All files are copied, dirs are created as expected. So a config error of the share is impossible (this share lives since samba 1.1.x). The xcopy command is like: xcopy c:\Path\Dirs h:\saves\Dirs /e/s/v/y/d Switching back to 3.0.7 (same plattform, same configure) all is ok. My xcopy-script backups all files as expected. Looked at the logfiles with debug level 10. But nothing unusual found. Error is repeatable.
Could you possibly retry with the sources from subversion?
Sure. If someone tell's me how to do :-)
Works with the patch form Daniel Beschorner (afaik already submitted).
sorry for the same, cleaning up the database to prevent unecessary reopens of bugs.
