Description Dieter Ferdinand 2020-07-20 13:01:15 UTC
since the last update i don't get a connection from my winxp workstation.

i need the smbv1 protocol and it seems, that this is nor more in samba.

It was mentioned in the release notes of the version where the default changed. Look up "client min protocol" in man smb.conf
Comment 2 Dieter Ferdinand 2021-04-20 19:34:53 UTC
the latest version with the needed protocol for winxp is 4.10.17.

in all newer version, it is impossible to activate this protocol, because it is removed from source.

(In reply to Dieter Ferdinand from comment #2)
SMBv1 has not been removed from Samba, but the default for 'client min protocol' and 'server min protocol' was raised to 'SMB2_02' from 4.11.0 There is nothing stopping you from resetting it back to SMBv1 by setting both of them in smb.conf with the value 'NT1'
