I'm connecting Win7 clients to 4.5.12-SerNet-Ubuntu-17.trusty. When setting 

allow dns updates = nonsecure

A records and PTR records are created and updated just fine.

When taking this setting away, I get log entries like this:

[2017/07/31 17:43:33.380534,  2] ../source4/dns_server/dns_update.c:773(dns_server_process_update)
  Got a dns update request.
[2017/07/31 17:43:33.380774,  2] ../source4/dns_server/dns_update.c:730(dns_update_allowed)
  Update not allowed for unsigned packet

No PTR records will be created. I thought this was solved in https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11520, but somehow the problem (or related) seems to be present in 4.5.
