Samba support adding a share remotely via "add share command". This is useable only by privileged users.

Samba also support adding a share by non priviledged users if they can log locally ( net usershare)

It will be a useful enhancement to allow normal users to add a share remotely as if they were running net usershare.

If this is done, I could use only share security and disable file acls, as they are very complicated to users (and difficult to audit). Users - having a main private user share- would just create shares for the projects they work on and set acls on them.

I've changed the product to samba 4.1 .

Or should I change it to samba 4.2 ?
